Testosterone is a hormone that is abundant in males. Other than keeping up the sex drive, testosterone also has different functions for our body, such as for sperm production, hair growth, bone density, and muscle mass. As men age, their testosterone levels decrease every year.

We can have low testosterone levels because of some illnesses too like hypogonadism. But, do not worry. There are two ways to boost your testosterone levels, either medically or naturally. But, be wary of limiting your intake of seafood because of its mercury content. It is advisable to only eat seafood two to three times a week.

Egg Yolks:

Egg yolks are known to be a good source for Vitamin D. But, there are pros and cons to eating egg yolks. It is known to increase cholesterol levels. But, it is still advisable to eat because of the nutrients it contains. Egg yolks are also more nutritious than egg whites. As long as you do not have any heart or cholesterol problems, it is safe to eat one egg every day.

Shellfish:

Shellfish, such as lobsters and crabs, is an excellent source of zinc. Zinc is also known to help increase testosterone levels. So, from time to time, go out and eat some crabs and lobsters. Just do not overdo it because it may increase your cholesterol levels.

Olive Oil:

Extra virgin olive oil has been linked to testosterone levels. A study was done wherein the participants took extra virgin olive oil daily for three weeks. The results showed that there was an increase in testosterone levels in all participants.

Live and eat healthy:

Testosterone is an essential hormone for males. It is the hormone that makes us men. So, to increase your testosterone levels, eat healthy food and do not forget to exercise. The combination of dieting and exercising will surely boost your testosterone level.
